2.1. Mission- Making children Ready for a Changing World
2.2. Vision- Our vision is that every student will gain necessary knowledge and skills to succeed at their highest potential.
2.3. Beliefs- We believe all students can become lifelong learners, thinkers, and productive contributors to our society. It is our responsibility to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at a high level in a safe and secure learning environment.
3. Approval of Agenda
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Motion to approve the agenda passed with a motion by Mr. Henry Turner and a second by Mrs. Teresa Combs and the consensus of the council.

4. Approval of Minutes
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  A motion to approve the minutes passed with a motion by Jason Fugate and a second by Mrs. Teresa Combs and the consensus of the council.

5. Financial Report
Discussion

The council discussed the remaining SBDM money and discussed some ideas for spending.  The council has already polled teachers to find out about needs and used some Title I money to get some of those items.  While looking at the budget, members decided to move some money to different areas.  Henry Turner made a motion to move money from computers to general supplies.  Mary Kay Caudill seconded the motion, everyone voting in favor.  Teresa Combs made the motion to move the 1,000 from travel to other printing.  Mary Caudill seconded it with all voting in favor.

6. New Business
Discussion

Student placement was discussed.  The council decided to look at MAP scores and get teacher input for making classes as equitable as possible.  Henry Turner discussed the students use of the PE equipment and how it has helped with behavior.

7. Policy Review
Discussion

The council discussed the committee policy, but tabled it until a later time.

8. Review 2021-2022 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

Council discussed the 30-60-90 plan. Some of the strategies and programs in place were discussed, such as dreambox, Lexia, SQR3 and Cubes.  When school resumes, items will be added to focus on engagement and formative assessment.  These are things the council feels the school needs to improve on to increase student growth.

9. Curriculum
Discussion

The council discussed the work that has been going on with learning intentions and success criteria.  The council also discussed the ongoing improvements with student data notebooks, as well as goal sheets.  Teachers are optimistic, also, that the in school and after school tutoring will help increase students test scores.

10. Academic Report
Discussion

The council discussed the Spring MAP test.  Some takeaways by the council included the small percentage of students moving into tier 1, and also the slow growth made in the spring, compared to the Fall to Winter scores.  The council discussed ideas to focus on reading and the need to get parents involved with helping to close achievement gaps.


Plans are in place for preschool graduation and 6th grade honors day.  Preschool graduation will be held on May 13 and 6th Grade Honors Day will be held on May 19th.  Jackie O'Neill will be distributing books to preschool students as part of a literacy event, while giving 6th graders tranistion materials as they prepare for middle school.

May 6th will be the 6th grade field trip.  May 16th, all students will go to the park for a field day and splash pad.
