Frequent repairs and maintenance are consuming time and funds, reducing reliability and disrupting instruction. Replacing these devices will restore consistent access to digital tools, improve learning efficiency, and lower long-term support costs.

7.E. KETS Offer of Assistance - Freddie Newby / Jessica Castenir
Rationale

The School Facilities Construction Commission (SFCC) is making an Offer of Assistance in the amount of $25,479 for education technology.  Acceptance of this Offer of Assistance commits the school district to adhere to the statutes and regulations of the SFCC and KDE governing the Education Technology Funding Program.  This is the first offer of assistance for FY2026.  This offer can be accepted by matching funds equally, escrowed for up to 3 years, or rejected. 

The District has the budget to match the funds equally.  See attached for the offer and journal entry moving the funds.

Rationale

The Board acknowledges its obligation to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service.  This action is not a determination of wrongdoing, but a formal step to ensure that any concerns regarding board member conduct are reviewed by the proper state authority with jurisdiction to interpret and enforce Kentucky law governing school board members.

A motion that the LaRue County Board of Education formally refer the conduct of Board Member Teresa Gilbert to the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General for review and potential investigation, based upon information received by the Board alleging violations of applicable law and ethical standards.

The Board directs its legal counsel, Valerie McCubbin, to prepare and transmit the appropriate documentation and supporting materials to the Office of the Attorney General for further review. And to cooperate fully with any inquiry or investigation that may result.

Recommended Motion
