3. Therapy Dog HES - Jennifer Price
Rationale

Therapy dogs can help reduce stress and anxiety among students, improve attendance, help teach empathy and social skills, increase confidence in reading, and encourage students to talk about their emotions. Therapy dog will be used in some of the following ways.

Small Group Counseling and Classroom Lessons

De-escalation Techniques

Social Skills Groups

Individual Counseling Sessions

Reading Intervention Groups

Rewards for Attendance or Behavior

Intervention Incentives

Greeting Students and welcoming new students

5. ERATE FY2026 - Freddie Newby
Rationale

USAC (Universal Service Administrative Company) administers federal funds also known as ERATE.  ERATE is a program that provides schools and public libraries with federal funds for the purpose of providing internet access.  The application is done annually and provides our district 80-90% discounts on internet service as well as hardware required to provide internet access to our schools.   The discount rate is calculated based on the Free/Reduced status of our district. 

6. Security and Data Breach Best Practices 2025-26 - Freddie Newby
Rationale

KDE requires annual board awareness of the LaRue County Schools Security and Data Breach Best Practices documentation.

7. KECSAC Memorandum of Agreement - DW Cruse
Rationale

LaRue County Schools and KECSAC (Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children) partner together to provide services, training, and funding to students at the Life Connection. Attached is the MOA for a continued partnership. This memorandum of agreement must be renewed yearly. 

8. TLC Memorandum of Agreement - DW Cruse
Rationale

The Life Connection contracts with LaRue County Schools to provide educational services to students who are placed at their facility. The memorandum of agreement between LaRue County Schools and TLC must be renewed yearly. 

9. Surpass Behavioral Health MOA - Savannah Boone
10. Already Autism Memorandum of Agreement - Savannah Boone
Rationale

Already Autism provides ABA therapy in an outpatient clinic. When their patients begin attending school, they are able to send Registered Behavior Technicians and Board Certified Behavior Analysts to the schools to help with transitioning and behavior in school. Already Autism has requested to provide services to a student at Hodgenville Elementary School. However, the attached memorandum of agreement would apply to the whole district, should they request to provide services to a student in another building. 

11. United Champion Schools Grant Application - Savannah Boone
Rationale

Special Olympics of KY offers grants to Unified Champion Schools to support inclusive/unified clubs, sports, and learning opportunities. Teachers from HES, LCMS, and LCHS would like to apply for grant funding to continue to support their unified clubs, sports, and full school engagement activities. Their applications are attached.

12. Head Start Full Utilization MOA - Savannah Boone
Rationale

This MOA sets out the terms by which the local Head Start and LaRue County Schools will ensure full utilization of head start, avoid duplication of services, and avoid supplanting of federal funds, with the goal being to serve as many eligible 4 year old as possible. 

13. FY2026 Feeding America Back Pack Program - Jessica Castenir
Rationale

LaRue County FRYSC is partnering with Feeding America to provide Back Pack Services for students.

14. FY2026 Extra Duty Schedule Update - Jessica Castenir
Rationale

Update the FY2026 Extra Duty Schedule to add:

Translation Services: $25/hr.

15. Tax Rate Discussion - Jessica Castenir
Rationale

The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2025 was 53.0 cents on real property and 53.0 cents on personal property and produced a total revenue of $5,221,675 (including both general fund and building fund).  Attached are Reports 1-4 that are received from KDE and the Department of Revenue. Also attached, for informational purposes, are four different tax scenarios/rates and how that translates to receipts for the District.
