Consideration/Approval Pursuant to 702 KAR 4:050 Section 2, the Estill County Board of Education requests that the chief state school officer cause an inspection of the proposed school building site for the new Estill County Middle School.
III.
Consideration/Approval Pursuant to 702 KAR 4:050 Section 4(5) and Section 5(1), the Estill County Board of Education requests that the Kentucky Board of Education approve the proposed site for the new Estill County Middle School for which the site cost analysis survey and acquisition cost exceeds ten (10) percent of the maximum budget for the project.
IV.
Pursuant to 702 KAR 4:050 Section 5(3), the Estill County Board of Education certifies that all reasonable sites within the approvable area have been reviewed, and a decision has been made by the local board not to pursue acquisition of another site or use of a site currently owned designated for such use as defined. The following sites were reviewed:

The property between 2220 Winchester Road and 2700 Winchester Road, Irvine, Kentucky 40336; reasons site not acceptable: next to landfill, air quality, separates students from one campus to two, making it more difficult for MS students to participate in accelerated HS classes that they will take in the HS building as they would have to be transported on a bus. Having students participate in ATC events/classes is more challenging as they must be transported on a bus.
