Order #13564 - Motion Passed:  Adopt Tax Levy for 2026-2027 passed with a motion by Mrs. Kimbley Iman and a second by Ms. Heather Sharpensteen.

Mr. Paul Mullins read the Proposed Tax Notification to the Board in it's entirety:

"The Elizabethtown Independent Board of Education is proposing a general fund tax levy of 87.3 cents on real property and 87.3 cents on personal property.

The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 85.7 cents on real property and 85.7 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $8,402,090.16. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 87.3 cents on real property and 87.3 cents on personal property is expected to produce $9,027,526. Of this amount, $890,794 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax for 2027 is 83.8 cents on real property and 83.8 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $8,665,597.28.

The proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The general areas to which revenue of $625,435 above 2026 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $9,382; building fund, $1,490; instruction, $405,085; transportation, $30,356; and maintenance of plant, $179,122.

This information is published pursuant to KRS 160.470. The proposed tax rate is not subject to recall under KRS 132.017.
