Consider Municipal Order 29-2024 entitled A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN APPLICATION FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT ADMINISTERED BY THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE CRITICAL RESOURCES TO LAW ENFORCEMENT JURISDICTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REIMBURSING THE OWENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE TOTAL COST OF $21,352.00 TO PURCHASE TWENTY-SIX (26) NEW GENERATION 5 GLOCK 45 FIREARMS; NO MATCH REQUIRED FROM THE CITY.
The City of Owensboro Police Department requests to purchase twenty-six (26) Generation 5 Glock firearms with modular optic sights for use by new hires at a cost of $21,352.00 through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). No match is required from the City.

OPEN PUBLIC FORUM
Members of the audience may address the Board of Commissioners on any matter of public concern that was not on the agenda. Comments are limited to issues within the scope and responsibility of the Commission.
Commission meetings are held to conduct city business for the benefit of Owensboro citizens and taxpayers. The meetings are not intended to serve as public forums for candidates who are campaigning for political office. Political candidates will not be allowed to use the Commission meeting to promote his/her candidacy for public office.
At this time, anyone who wishes to address the City Commission please make their way to the podium to be recognized. Speakers must state their name and address for the Clerk’s record, and limit their remarks to three (3) minutes or less. Since the item is not on the agenda, no response is required from staff or the Board of Commissioners. The Mayor reserves the right to extend time to the speaker.
