a. Consider approval of the Construction Documents and authorization to advertise for bids for the Corbin Primary School Addition project pending Kentucky Department of Education approval
Mr. Childers stated there was one item on the agenda listed under "Discussion/Action" items. The item was in reference to authorization for advertisement of bids and approval of Construction documents for the Corbin Primary School addition. Ray Vaske from SCB was in attendance to explain some minor changes (recommended by KDE) to the original plan. Those changes included the addition of a exit to the outdoor playground area and the location of a covered concrete area adjacent to the outdoor playground. Mr. Vaske went over the plan in detail and answered all questions. He also explained that there was an alternate in the plan that included a covered walkway from the new addition to the back traffic loop behind the school. Mr. Vaske also explained that was easily removed from the scope of work should the Board decide that was not beneficial. Todd Childers asked what was the date the Board needed to let SCB know their decision on the walkway and Mr. Vaske stated that by the Dec. 18 special meeting. There was discussion about a possible new entry/exit road to the new addition with no action taken. Stephen Mulberry made a motion to approve the construction documents as presented and authorize SCB to advertise for bids. The motion was seconded by Keith Gibson. Motion passed 4-0.
