d. Approve creation of three new Corbin High School football coaching position (2 varsity coaches and 1 freshman coach) and the following changes to the football coaching salary schedule. The same total amount of assistant coach money will be utilized as the previous year: Guy Lewallen - $3,500 per year; Vacant - $2,500 per year (new Varsity Assistant); Vacant - $2,250 per year (new Varsity Assistant); Jeremy Hart - $3,000 per year; Vacant - $1,450 per year (new Freshman Coach); Seth Mitchell - $1,450 per year
e. Approve to abolish the following Corbin High School Football positions: Varsity A @ $3,500 per year; Varsity B @ $2,250 per year; Freshman @ $1,200 per year; Freshman A @ $700 per year
f. Approve and create an extra service assistant volleyball coach position at Corbin Middle School with a stipend of $500
g. Approve recommendation to select Hacker Brothers as Construction Manager, and Sherman Carter Barnhart as the Architect to oversee construction and provide design of the Corbin Middle School renovation
h. Approve Construction Manager Contract for Corbin Primary Addition, pending Kentucky Department of Education approval
i. Approve to create 5 public relations extra service positions (for pictures) for all A1 schools at $500 per position
j. Approve to change the Corbin High School attendance secretary from 217 days to 197 days per year and to change the Corbin High School administrative secretary from 197 days to 217 days per year
k. Approve sub-award with Eastern Kentucky University for the CAPT (Intermediate and Middle School Clinical Apprenticeship) grant for 2017-2018, pending receiving grant agreement
l. Approve sub-award with Eastern Kentucky University for the CAPT-E (Elementary Clinical Apprenticeship) grant for 2017-2018, pending receiving grant agreement
m. Approve to reduce the extra service positions CAPT Site Coordinators (EKU) from $4,000 per year to $1,000 per year, pending receiving grant agreement
n. Approve change order for Corbin Middle School as follows:
1. Bid Package 0300, BG# 15-246, Proposal Request #43 Hacker Brothers, for an increase of $3,694.00
o. Approve Service Agreement for Students with Visual Impairments between the Whitley County School District and the Corbin Independent School District
p. Approve for Superintendent to extend monetary limit for the graduation sound system to $20,000 (previous approval of up to $15,000)
VII. Discussion/Action Items
a. Acknowledge Review of the Data Breach Notification Best Practice Guide - Required by August 31 of each year
b. Discussion selection of Calendar Committee make-up
c. Consider request to match the Band Boosters funds of $12,030 so that they can purchase instruments for the 2017-2018 school year
d. Consider approval of S&ME, Inc. of Lexington, Kentucky (formerly QORE that performed the geotechnical investigation and Special Inspections for the original Corbin Primary School) to perform the geotechnical investigation and Special Inspections services for the Corbin Primary School Addition project
e. Discussion and review of the floor plan schemes locating the proposed addition to the Corbin Primary School, no formal board action required.
f. Discussion regarding Facility Planning for future 4th and 5th grade expansion to the existing Corbin Primary School, no formal board action required.
