Board Chair Ann Meyer called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

• HHS had 204 students earning AP Scholar distinctions


• Girls and Boys Soccer teams are playing in regionals


• Johnson Hullabaloo is October 21


• 2023 HHS graduate Olivia Hahn had a perfect score on the AP Art exam


• HHS play "The KY Cycle" is November 2-6

Johnson Elementary students presented on their Jaguar Jamboree program where they set goals and work as both 18 separate family groups as well as one large Johnson family.  Students shared their experiences working with their family accountability partners and demonstrated some of their families' unique hand signals (greetings).

Jerry Wissman shared that the final paperwork had been completed to close out this project.

• BG-5 - JES Temp Relocation

Order #2475 - Motion Passed:  Approval of the BG-5 Final Project Closeout Form for the Johnson Elementary Replacement Project (Temporary Relocation) passed with a motion by Mrs. Sarah Foster and a second by Mr. Jeff Beach.

Jerry Wissman reported that 95% of the large section and 70% of the smaller section has been completed. We are currently monitoring for leaks after rain storms, which is a normal practice.

• Imbus Roofing Pay App #4 - Highlands Roofing

Order #2476 - Motion Passed:  Approval of Pay Application #4 to Imbus Roofing in the amount of $122,158.80 for the Highlands Roof Replacement project passed with a motion by Mrs. Julie Kuhnhein and a second by Mr. Clem Fennell IV.

Jerry Wissman shared that the cooling towers still need to be installed during a time when students are not present on campus. Staff training on the care/maintenance of new equipment will begin soon.

• CMTA Pay App #7 - GESC

Order #2477 - Motion Passed:  Approval of Pay Application #7 to CMTA, Inc. in the amount of $70,158.05 for the Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract program passed with a motion by Mr. Jeff Beach and a second by Mrs. Sarah Foster.

Brian Robinson reported that due to the many components of the project, it's recommended that the project be completed in two phases.  Phase I will encompass road and utility work. Bid opening for Phase I is October 17.

• Memorandum of Agreement with City of Fort Thomas re Joint Construction of South Park Improvements

Order #2478 - Motion Passed:  Approval of the Memorandum of Agreement with the City of Fort Thomas for the Highlands Athletic Complex at Tower Park Renovation project passed with a motion by Mr. Clem Fennell IV and a second by Mrs. Julie Kuhnhein.

• Policy 09.224 - Emergency Medical Treatment

Order #2479 - Motion Passed:  Tentative approval based on a First Reading of Policy 09.224 - Emergency Medical Treatment passed with a motion by Mrs. Sarah Foster and a second by Mr. Jeff Beach.

Order #2480 - Motion Passed:  Approval of the Continuous Improvement Diagnostic for 2023-24 passed with a motion by Mrs. Julie Kuhnhein and a second by Mr. Clem Fennell IV.

Keith Faust shared that the 1st and 2nd grade report cards have been revised to better align with our current curriculum and provide parents with an overall picture of student progress.

• 2023 Summer Enrichment Summary

Jamee Flaherty reported that 250 students participated in the Summer Enrichment program.  

Julie Kuhnhein shared that the Education Foundation committee met and provided events for Homecoming.

Ann Meyer shared that the Breakfast committee will again provide treats for facuty/staff on late arrival days.
