The Board also recognized and congratulated Ahren Wagner, HHS Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, who was one of 30 FCCLA advisors nationwide who was honored this year with a Spirit of Advising Award. The Spirit of Advising Award recognizes FCCLA advisors who consistently demonstrate excellence in modeling FCCLA character and integrity to ensure the success of their students within their classroom and career. Ahren has been an FCCLA Advisor for over 22 years.

Verification of Essential Workplace Ethics Instruction
Bill Bradford
Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, each school district shall implement essential workplace ethics programs that promote characteristics that are critical to success in the workplace. Each student in elementary, middle, and high school shall receive essential workplace ethics instruction. By September 1, 2019, and every two (2) years thereafter, the superintendent of each school district shall provide to the commissioner of education a report, describing the school district's essential workplace ethics programs and how they are being implemented at each school.
Bill Bradford presented the verification of the district's essential workplace ethics programs.

ARP ESSER Spending Plan
Bill Bradford
Through Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds, the District's ARP ESSER allocation provides the supplemental funding needed to maintain teaching and learning during and after the pandemic; safely reopen schools as soon as possible; maintain full-time, in-person instruction; and, address the effects of lost instructional time on students’ social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs.
Bill Bradford presented and explained the ARP ESSER funds spending plan.

Jeff Beach reported that the Audit committee met last week and that the yearly audit is scheduled to begin the week of August 23.
Ann Meyer reported that the Education & Eggs committee just completed another successful back to school breakfast on August 12. She thanked the sponsors for financially supporting this event, and Nancy Gesenhues and her staff for their work in preparing breakfast.

Brian Robinson thanked the Fort Thomas Education Foundation for their recent gift to the district of the property located at 2504 Memorial Parkway.
The Johnson Elementary School Grand Opening ceremony was held on Sunday, August 15. The event was very well attended with many community members taking the opportunity to tour the school.
