The students talked about their experiences in the programs, sharing personal stories, examples of how their time was spent, and reflecting on how the program impacted them going forward. 

The Board congratulated the students on being selected to participate in the Governor's programs and gave each a "Rich in Tradition" t-shirt.

Congratulations to Colleen Epperson for being named the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE) Excellence in Education Award winner for PreK-12 Schools.

The Board congratulated Colleen Epperson and thanked her for her leadership in environmental education at Highlands. 

The following employees were nominated for a Portrait of a Graduate Global Leader Award:

Each was recognized by the Board for their individual demonstrations and given a Global Leader Award.

Moyer Elementary students presented about their project on saving the Amazon Rainforest trees.  Students presenting were:

The Board thanked the students for their presentation and gave each a "Rich in Tradition" t-shirt.

Jerry Wissman provided the Board with an update on the project noting that the building pad has been laid out with footers and foundation work in progress.

Mark Collier from Living Media provided the Board with an overview of the PR/Media relations services provided to the district.

Information was also given showing how the district's social media presence has grown on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as increased media exposure through local news stations and other new platforms (KY Tribune, RCN, etc.).

• Essential Workplace Ethics Instruction Program

Bill Bradford informed the Board of the Essential Workplace Ethics Instruction Program, a new requirement in statute with mandatory implementation in September 2019.

Instead of each school district creating their own program, Northern Kentucky schools districts worked together through the NKCES to create the program for all schools in the region.

Program requirements and certification for students were reviewed.

Board Chair Jeff Beach stated that a Naming Rights committee would be formed and asked that any Board members interested in serving on this committee contact him or Karen Cheser.
