The Board of Education approved the Catalpa School and Louisville Reach Academy school concepts for implementation in the 2015-16 school year and directed staff to pursue options for the implementation of the Metro Museum Magnet School without the purchase and rehabilitation of a building downtown.

During this work session, the following will be presented to the Board:

  • Recommendation to approve implementation of the Catalpa School concept at Maupin Elementary School for the 2015–16 school year. This will be included on the Consent Calendar for October 13, 2014. 
  • Proposal for the implementation of the Louisville Reach Academy concept at Atkinson Elementary School for the 2015–16 school year. This item is for review and discussion only, with an action item for approval contemplated for the October 27, 2014, meeting.
  • Proposal for the implementation of a significantly revised version of the Metro Museum Magnet concept to be implemented for the 2015–16 school year. This item is for review and discussion only, with an action item for approval contemplated for the October 27, 2014, meeting.
